Microsoft’s latest smartphones, Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL, have taken a long time to hit stores after getting launched. In the U.S., it is only AT&T that is ready to sell these phones. There has been no news about the availability of these devices in other markets. Now, the Windows 10 phones will finally be available to customers. At least, to Australian customers.
Microsoft has announced that Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL will hit Australian stores in December. Other than these Microsoft phones, Lumia 550 is another device that will be made available for purchase on the same day, December 7. Whereas Lumia 950 and 950 XL are high-end phones, Lumia 550 is a mid-range smartphone for those not looking to spend more than necessary on a phone. The phones are already available on the regional online store of Microsoft. But the company is not going to ship pre-orders before December 8. None of the Australian carriers have confirmed the availability of these Windows 10 phones yet.
As reported earlier, AT&T will start selling Lumia 950 from November 20. The carrier has started accepting pre-orders. As the holiday season is just round the corner, companies that have not released their phones are looking forward to grab the opportunity; whereas those already in the market are looking forward to boost sales with Black Friday deals. Hopefully, the holiday season will prove to be a blessing for these latest Lumia phones. But with competitors selling their best devices at discounted rates, will Lumia be a hit among buyers?
