Melissa McCarthy Launches Her Fashion Line

Perhaps few people know that Emmy award-winning actress and comedian Melissa McCarthy wanted to do something with her life other than to star in hit movies and television shows. In fact, she has also wanted to become a fashion designer for a very long time. And with the launch of her first-ever fashion brand, McCarthy is turning her dream into a reality while dressing women fabulously in all shapes and sizes.

Melissa McCarthy is confident that she can dress a woman whatever size she may be. After all, the actress says that she has experienced being “every size on the planet.” In fact, she said, “I have experience dressing me as a 6, a 12 and more.” Moreover, she added, “And when you go above a size 12, you don’t lose your love of fashion.”

Before she even became famous in Hollywood, McCarthy spent her grade school days dreaming of becoming a successful fashion designer. So, it only made sense that she decided to team up with Sunrise Brands to develop her very own fashion line called Melissa McCarthy Seven7. What’s more, Melissa McCarthy Seven7 will go beyond fabulous clothes. In fact, the chic fashion line will also feature a number of accessories and must-have beauty products.

Sunrise Brands is proud to call itself “the most dynamic diversified apparel company in the United States.” At the helm this vibrant company is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Gerard Guez who back in 1977, introduced the world to the iconic Sasson Jeans.

Today, Sunrise Brands has diversified its business into a portfolio of famous brands and private label work. Aside from McCarthy’s Seven7, Sunrise is also behind the brands People’s Liberation, Diane Gilman, American Rag, Seven7 Jeans and Eva Longoria (coming soon). Meanwhile, it also creates a lot of private label fashion for a number of retail partners including Target, K Mart, Macys, Forever 21, Lane Bryant, Kohl’s, Walmart, Winners, Nordstrom Rack, American Eagle Outfitters, Hot Topic, Bloomingdales, Burlington, Vanity, rue21, Sears, Mark’s and more.

During a recent interview with Vogue, McCarthy gushed about how excited she is for every woman to be able to check out her new fashion line. The Melissa McCarthy Seven7 brand is actually about having “everything a woman needs,” in that there will be dresses, tailored separates and denim that will be priced under $150.

She also told Vogue, “The fun of it is you should be able to put these things together and not have to make a choice about going out to dinner or getting the sweater. Wear the sweater to dinner.” In addition, the fashion line will also offer sizes ranging from four to 28, proving that women can look fashionable without being as slim as a model.

The Melissa McCarthy Seven7 line is actually set to debut on September 1, but McCarthy will be introducing it on Home Shopping Network (HSN) on August 13.
