Mavericks Sign Rookie Free Agent Maurice Ndour

Free agent rookie forward Maurice Ndour has signed for the Dallas Mavericks. Dallas announced the deal on Thursday.

Ndour averaged 9.6 points and 4.8 rebounds in five games for the New York Knicks’ summer league team this month. But the Mavericks offered him more guaranteed money.

The 6-foot-9, a native of Senegal, represented Ohio University as a senior and  averaged 16 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game last season.

Ndour started playing school basketball in Japan, then joined Monroe College and spent two years in the junior college of New York, where he was a two-time National Junior College Athletic Association All-Region selection. Then the forward played two seasons for the Bobcats.
