Matt Drudge Net Worth: His Earnings From Conspiracy Theories

As Hurricane Matthew heads towards Florida, Matt Drudge is adding up to the confusion of the climatic change with his conspiracy theories.

Florida’s Republican governor Rick Scott, who said that the storm is going to kill people, has asked residents to evacuate due to life-threatening coastal surges, extreme winds, and waves above 18 feet.

The storm might also destroy properties if predictions of scientists and civil authorities turn out to be true.

According to The Verge, Matt Drudge tweeted that meteorological reports could all be a government conspiracy to make climate change seem worse. This came from him, despite factual reports about the storm from professional weather scientists.

“The deplorables are starting to wonder if govt has been lying to them about Hurricane Matthew intensity to make exaggerated point on climate,” he tweeted.

“Hurricane Center has monopoly on data. No way of verifying claims. Nassau ground observations DID NOT match statements! 165mph gusts? WHERE?”

This man is not just an ordinary conspiracy theorist on Facebook; he is the founder of Drudge Report as well as one of the most powerful commentators on the Internet. People have become furious with his opinions, as his thinking might encourage others to stand up against the hurricane instead of trusting the government.

Now, the famous conspiracy theorist is being compared to Donald Trump after the presidential candidate’s comment on climate change. Trump said that global warming is nothing but a Chinese conspiracy to “make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive.”

A Twitter user, R Paine, wrote, “Matt Drudge is a moron, I know most of you already recognize this but the rest of you should…”

Another user asked Drudge if he could go to Florida while the hurricane arrives and face what is about to happen there.

“I was never a huge fan of #MattDrudge but I’m 99% sure he just lost whatever credibility he had,” FR Matthew Schneider wrote.

Drudge, who has been making money out of conspiracy theories, has a net worth of $90 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. It was also reported that he is the single most powerful individual in the digital news business.

In 2012, it was reported by Business Insider that Drudge Report was one of the most profitable digital media businesses on the planet, with a net worth of hundreds of millions of dollars. And most interestingly, the man made it, funded it, and earned it all.
