Finally, after two weeks of Masterchef US Season 7 hiatus, we will see the best home cooks in America compete again. And it seems Fox is trying to make amends by airing two episodes back-to-back on Wednesday.
But what’s the reason behind this two-week drought? You’ve guessed it, the 2016 Rio Olympics. And since TV is still a business we might as well let it slide I mean c’mon, two-mouthwatering episodes.
Episode 12 “5 Star Food” will be immediately followed by Episode 13 “Hot Potato” on Wednesday. Handyman Terry Mueller and Elementary School Teacher Brandi Mudd are currently on top with four wins each.
The two also performed extremely well in the competition. Both never came close to being eliminated and persevered even when put through the dreaded pressure test.
So what’s in store in the Masterchef US kitchen this time? With only nine home cooks remaining, the next episodes will surely step it up when it comes to challenges.
Back-To-Back Masterchef US With Kevin Sbraga
According to TV Guide, in the first half of the competition will feature “Top Chef” Season 7 winner Kevin Sbraga as guest judge. He will cook alongside the remaining contestants to create a dish using premium ingredients.
Fans will definitely see at least one home cook take off the apron in the first half. This is because only eight contestants will face-off in a three part skill test involving potatoes.
Gordon Ramsay and Christina Tosi have been hosting the show with several guest judges this season. This is after Graham Elliot left the show after its sixth season.
Wolfgang Puck became the first guest judge of the season for episode three. He was followed by Aarón Sanchez who was guest judge for episodes 5, 6 and 7. And finally Edward Lee became guest judge for episode 8, 9, 10 and 11.
How long Kevin Sbraga will stay on Masterchef US as a guest judge is undecided. The Top Chef Season 7 winner might still have other responsibilities to take care of.
