In what appears to be an apparent case of murder-suicide, police have discovered the bodies of four people in a South Carolina apartment Sunday evening.
The Lexington County Sheriff’s Office confirmed four dead and that the bodies were found around 8 p.m. Sunday.
According to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher, the deceased include 26-year-old Marissa Hope Reynoso, 25-year-old Jorge Luis Chavez, and the couple’s two children, Elijah Chavez, 4, and Ezra Chavez, 1, said a ABC Columbia report.
The Case As It Transcended
Detectives arrived at the apartment located on Old Barnwell Road in Lexington County, Sunday evening, and found the bodies.
On Monday, deputies confirmed in a tweet that the incident was an apparent murder-suicide.
Authorities further confirmed that Reynoso had an older child who was not there when the incident happened, according to a WHTX 19 report.
Jorge Luis Chavez- A Suspect?
The Lexington County Sheriff’s Office was initially searching for Jorge Luis Chavez as a person of interest. However, the search ended on Monday the coroner identified the fourth deceased as Chavez. It was only then the case was reclassified as a murder-suicide.
According to a CBS News report, all four of the victims died of gunshot wounds.
The investigation is ongoing.
