The MacBook Air is expected to be one of the big devices for 2017 with Apple likely closing the year with the MacBook Pro 2016. Just the same, it would be best to see what the upcoming device will have to offer by the last quarter of the year.
The MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to come out with several iterations. As most know, the upcoming Apple notebook is rumored to be thinner. Somehow that could be tied up to the recurring removal of the 3.5 mm jack. Such was one of the reasons why the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus turned out thinner.
Hence, the MacBook Air may more or less be a miniature version of the upcoming MacBook Pro 2016 with some features taken out. Regardless, one feature that could be worth noting is the processor situation.
With powerful chips, MacBook Air may support 5K displays
Apple is expected to start arming their devices with their celebrated A-Series of ARM processors. This was notable with the iPhone 7 with its A10 Fusion chip and the understanding is that it will carry on to the MacBook Pro and then the MacBook Air.
And from there, it makes a lot of sense and possibly bringing up more powerful possibilities.
Keep eye out for MacBook Pro
As far as the MacBook Air is concerned, it may support belief that it can accommodate displays of up to 5K. Word of such comes from NDTV, which should spur up excitement for the laptop even more.
A couple of months ago, many were under the impression that Apple was downsizing and that the MacBook Air would be one of the casualties. All that has been of course doused with attention right now more on the specs it will carry by March 2017.
With a slimmer and high-resolution MacBook Air looming, Apple may be starting out 2017 with a big bang.
