It is pretty clear from the finale episode of ‘Lucifer’ season 1, that the next season will be all about him and his brother trying to hunt down their mother, who has incidentally escaped from hell.
However, that might not be all that bad for Lucifer, for the reason that he might not have had the best rapport with God, his dad, is because he is more of a mama’s boy!
‘Lucifer’ Season 2
It is not yet known who Lucifer’s mother could be, or which actress might be embodying her role. Regardless of whoever that individual turns out to be, Lucifer will definitely hold a special place in her heart.
In an interview with TVLine, showrunner Joe Henderson has teased that the relationship between Lucifer and his mother will be a lot stronger than the one he happens to share with his father:
“For a while we’ve seen that Amenadiel’s been trying to be ‘God’s favorite son,’ emulating himself after his father. So you can imagine that Lucifer might be ‘his mother’s son.’”
‘Lucifer’ Season 2 Spoilers
This might mean either good or bad news for Lucifer. Given the bizarre take on the Biblical myth of God and Satan seen on this show so far, there is a greater chance of Lucifer’s mother ending up to be some viciously obsessive Goddess than anything else. Even though some of the rumors flying around suggest that Lucifer’s mother might be Goddess Ashera, who entices God to do her bidding using magic, nothing has been confirmed yet.
In an interview with Empire Online, Tom Ellis, who plays the lead character has teased:
“It’s important for Lucifer sometimes to remember that he’s the Devil; to keep the notion that he is a wild animal that is seemingly being tamed, but at any moment could snap. That is important in the evolution of where we’re going with it.”
Will his mother turn out to be an ally whom Lucifer can confide in? Or will he need to seek therapy regarding mommy issues too?
