The Los Angeles Rams are looking to make a lot of noise in their first season back in the National Football League. But do they have the right pieces to have at least a decent finish next season? How about acquiring Michael Vick?
Los Angeles football fans are thrilled the NFL is back in LA, but their morale went down after a poor performance from rookie quarterback Jared Goff during his preseason debut. It raised questions on whether or not Goff is ready to start for the Rams next season.
It is worth noting that Keenum is still on top of their quarterback depth chart. But it will not be a surprise if the Rams decide to roll the dice with Goff in Week 1. However, according to NFL analyst Chris Simms of Bleacher Report, the Rams should feel concern about their quarterback situation.
Michael Vick To Los Angeles Rams?
Simms said in a recent discussion that Los Angeles is an ideal landing spot for the veteran quarterback. He thinks the current QB lineup of Goff, Keenum and Sean Mannion pales in comparison to the top contenders next season. It is why he thinks Vick will be a good fit to the Rams.
“I don’t think the Los Angeles Rams are all that talented at quarterback other than Jarred Goff,” Simms noted. “Case Keenum is a journeyman, Shawn Mannion I am not sold on that either. If they are not feeling comfortable with their talent level there, they could throw in Michael Vick into that scene.”
Even the Los Angeles Times appear unimpressed with the Rams’ quarterback depth chart. The report pointed out that Goff is not ready to become a starting QB in the league. Keenum is not that impressive but will likely win the quarterback competition heading into the new season.
Aside from the Rams, Simms also mentioned the Seattle Seahawks and New York Giants as possible landing spots for Vick. In New York, the veteran quarterback could become Eli Manning’s backup. On the other hand, he could provide QB depth to the Seahawks, who are expected to start Russell Wilson next season.
