The killing of a local rapper, Tyriece “Lor Scoota” Watson, has shocked fans and friends in Baltimore. Police continue the hunt for the gunman who killed the rapper.
Police are thinking that the homicide was a targeted killing because the murder took place in the middle of a busy Baltimore intersection. Hardly had the shots ended at Moravia and Harford roads in Northeast Baltimore at 7 p.m. Saturday when the car smashed into a liquor store.
According to T.J. Smith, spokesperson for Baltimore Police Department, the suspect, who was not yet identified, came up on the street and opened fire at the victim.
However, the murder victim is famous in Baltimore, although his assailant may be unknown.
The 23-year-old rapper, Tyriece Watson, went by his rapper name “Lor Scoota.” CBS Baltimore wrote that the rapper’s YouTube account is full of songs about the “blunt realities of street life.”
The rapper spent several hours at the nearby hospital where he was listed in critical condition. The DMV native Watson was declared dead as a consequence of his singular gunshot wound.

Moments after the murder, professional athletes like of Meek Mill and Yo Gotti expressed their shock and outrage on social media, said HipHop DX. Meek Mill posted a photo of the famous rapper on Instagram. He captioned the photo by saying, “Damn #lorscoota I seen so many young niggas fall victim Tryna make it out #restup.”
While on Tweeter, Yo Gotti made a tweet regarding the rapper murder. He posted, “Dam….. Rip Scoota #Bmore .”
“It appears he was doing some things to change his life and use those experiences to help empower other young people in our city of Baltimore,” Smith said.
