Logitech has just unveiled its latest gaming mouse – the G402 Hyperion Fury Ultra-Fast FPS Gaming Mouse – hailing it the as the “world’s fastest gaming mouse.”
“We took on the challenge of creating the world’s fastest mouse in service of FPS gamers, and after three years of intensive R&D we are proud to launch a mouse that only Logitech could develop,” said Ehtisham Rabbani, general manager of the Logitech gaming business. “The Logitech G402 Hyperion Fury is the fastest gaming mouse, bar none, and the best mouse for high-speed FPS gameplay. Its lightweight design, combined with the precision and capability of the Fusion Engine, lets you make fast, furious swipes and dominate the battlefield, proving once again that Science Wins!”
The Logitech G402 Hyperion Fury combines the company’s Delta Zero optical sensor technology with a new Fusion Engine hybrid sensor which consists of an accelerometer and a gyroscope which gives the G402 Hyperion Fury its fast tracking speed of 500 IPS (inches per second). This is supplemented by the mouse’s lightweight materials and low-friction feet. The G402 Hyperion Fury also features a 32-bit on-board ARM processor which powers the aforementioned Fusion Engine, eight programmable buttons, and a 1-millisecond report rate.
Out of the box, users can easily switch between four built-in DPI settings and a fifth one can be added using the company’s Logitech Gaming Software. The G402’s DPI settings can be adjusted from anywhere between 240 DPI to 4000 DPI. Users can also use the Logitech Gaming Software to customize the mouse’s eight buttons and even create complex macros for them. These customized settings can be saved onto the G402’s onboard memory so the mouse can easily be transportable and used on other computers.
The Logitech G402 Hyperion Fury FPS Gaming Mouse is expected to be available in the U.S. and Europe beginning in August 2014, for a suggested retail price of $59.99.
