Logitech has officially launched the latest product of its Logitech G line of gaming peripherals – the Logitech G502 Proteus Core Tunable Gaming Mouse. The company is continuing to push its “Science Wins” campaign with this new mouse.
“I’ve been super excited to use this mouse in public, I got to test it and it felt great! Was super comfortable and just fit perfectly to my hand,” said Hai Lam, team captain for Cloud 9. “Adjusting the DPI is super easy and very flexible. This is probably my favorite mouse to date!”
G502 Proteus Core takes Logitech G’s Delta Zero sensor technology and combines it with the world’s first 12,000 max DPI sensor. The G502 Proteus Core’s sensor also features zero sensor acceleration, zero smoothing or filtering, zero pixel rounding, and tracking of up to 300 inches per second, and a 1 millisecond report rate. Other mouse internals include a 32-bit ARM processor and on-board memory for mouse profile storage.
The mouse’s sensor can also be calibrated for optimized tracking on the surface the G502 is currently being used on. The G502’s weight and center of balance can also be adjusted and optimized through the use of the five included 3.6g weights that can installed in the mouse. On the software side, consumers can use the Logitech Gaming Software to reassign any command or macro to one of the Proteus Core’s 11 programmable buttons.
With the G502 Proteus Core, Logitech has opted to use individual key plates for the left and right mouse buttons stating that it provides a more rigid and stable feel. They’ve also installed a dual-mode scroll wheel that can be switched to either click-to-click precision mode or hyper-fast scrolling mode.
“With the world’s best sensor technology, complete surface, weight and balance tuning and mechanical switches, we have made a mouse that dominates,” said Ehtisham Rabbani, general manager of the Logitech gaming business. “The Logitech G team believes that when hype fades, Science Wins!”
The Logitech G502 Proteus Core Tunable Gaming Mouse will be available in the U.S. and Europe sometime this month for a suggested retail price of $79.99.
