LG Electronics has announced that the company’s new line of fitness products – the LG Lifeband Touch and LG Heart Rate Earphones – will be available next week, Sunday, May 18th, exclusively at select Best Buy stores.
“Here at LG, we know that everyone is trying to live a healthier lifestyle, and we want to help make that as easy as possible,” said Tim Alessi, Director of New Product Development for Home Entertainment Products, LG Electronics USA. “With the introduction of our wearable fitness products and the new LG Fitness app, users will be able to become more aware of their activity level and make smarter decisions on a daily basis to help impact their overall wellness.”
The LG Lifeband Touch features an OLED touch screen for displaying fitness data collected by the Lifeband Touch’s two sensors – a triple-axis accelerometer and an altimeter – which provides users a range of real time data. The OLED touch display on the Lifeband Touch may also show information on incoming calls and text messages from the user’s smartphone. Users may also control music functions from the device’s touch display.
On the other hand, the LG Heart Rate Earphones are able to collect and provide real-time heart rate data with the sensors inside the earphones themselves.
Both devices are compatible with both Android and iOS operating systems and devices. They can be used with LG’s Fitness app which offers a range of information and features including workout summaries and personal goal breakdowns. The LG Lifeband Touch and LG Heart Rate Earphones may also be used with other popular fitness apps.
The LG Lifeband Touch and Heart Rate Earphones will be available exclusively at select Best Buy stores starting May 18th but customers may also pre-order the new devices now at BestBuy.com. Retailers including Fry’s, HH Gregg, and Newegg will start selling the Lifeband Touch sometime in June. The LG Lifeband will be sold for $149.99 while the LG Heart Rate Earphones will cost $179.99.
