The Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 returns on Thursday. When the DC superhero series returns to television, fans of the show will witness completely different things from what they expected.
The Legends saved the world in three different time periods. They were shocked when a Waverider crash landed in front of them. A man claiming to be Rex Tyler warned them that if they boarded their Waverider, and wanted to become Time Masters, they would all die, according to Hollywood Reporter.
In Legends Of Tomorrow Season 2 premiere, there will be a new set of heroes to watch out for. Showrunner of the series, Marc Guggenheim spoke to Entertainment Weekly about this.
“I will say overall with Rip, one of the things we really wanted to do this year is play into Arthur’s natural comedic chops, and that was hard to do last year, because Rip was carrying the weight of a dead wife and a dead son, and his mission was a dark mission of vengeance,” he said.
The executive producer said that Rip will have more fun. He added that Rip will be the swaggering, cocksure, former Time Master that we know he can be without the burden of either vengeance or grief.
Legion Of Doom
“You’re going to see a slow building up of the Legion of Doom. It’s a very cool thing that we’re attempting here, which is we did the first sort of superhero team on television, and now we’re doing a team of super villains,” said Guggenheim.
He added that the Legion Of Doom have different agendas and have been brought together by Eobard Thawne.
The Justice Society of America (JSA) member Hourman’s (Patrick J. Adams) arrival means that his team, the JSA, is going to play a part in season two. The executive producer teased that it is a big one. But, the JSA will be introduced only on Oct.20 episode.
The DC series’ new vixen is Amaya Jiwe, a member of the JSA and also an ancestor of Mari Jiwe McCabe (Megalyn Echikunwoke). The former is Mari’s grandmother and will be played by Maise Richardson-Sellers.
Jonah Hex returns
Iconic DC Comics antihero Jonah Hex will be returning in Legends Of Tomorrow Season 2. “That was very high on our list of things that we wanted to do,” said Guggenheim. But, he will not appear until episode 6.
Legends of Tomorrow premieres on Thursday at 8 p.m. on The CW.
