Lakers have turned their season around. After wins against Celtics and Sixers, they asserted a huge 43-22 lead against Suns at halftime on Sunday.

Lakers News: The Los Angeles Lakers have turned their season around. After victories against Boston Celtics last Wednesday and Philadelphia 76ers on Friday, the Lakers registered a huge 97-77 victory against Phoenix Suns at Staples Center on Sunday night.

Louis Williams scored a season-high 30 points (11-17 FG, 6-7 3 Pt, 7, rebounds, 4 assists) and Larry Nance Jr. (15 points, 14 rebounds) were the stars of the show |Box Score|

Young guards D’Angelo Russell (7 points, 4 assists) and Jordan Clarkson (12 points, 7 assists) helped push the tempo as the Lakers dominated the Suns on transition – giving the crowd a glimpse of the Showtime Lakers era. Roy Hibbert had another solid showing of 13 points and 3 blocks.

With their eighth win of the season, have the Lakers reignited their hopes of making the playoffs? Only time will tell. They still have a lot of ground to make up. Regardless of the results, there is a lot of positives for fans of the Purple & Gold.

For the Suns, Brandon Knight led the way with 25 points and 9 assists. Eric Bledsoe’s season-ending injury has meant added responsibility for Knight.  Mirza Teletovic added 16 points and 8 rebounds off the bench. Veteran big man Tyson Chandler, who was ejected during Saturday’s 142-119 defeat at Sacramento, played only 19 minutes missed his first five shots before finishing with two points on 1 for 6 shooting.

Kobe Bryant hasn’t played since the Celtics game. He is still recovering from a sore right shoulder. Anthony Brown, starting in Bryant’s place, has fared reasonably well in limited minutes.

Lakers (8-27) will next host division rivals Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night.
