The Los Angeles Lakers are officially in the post-Kobe Bryant era. Despite the Black Mamba’s retirement, fans of the purple and gold still have a cast of young, talented players to look forward to. One of them is double-double machine Julius Randle.
The second-year power forward showed flashes of brilliance last season. But like many of his Laker teammates, his promising play was overshadowed by the Kobe love fest that engulfed the team’s day-to-day activities. Randle is poised to have a breakout year next season. There are rumors that it might not be in Los Angeles.
According to Daniel Lewis of Denver Stiffs, there is a trade rumor floating around involving Randle and Denver Nuggets duo Kenneth Faried and Gary Harris. The Lakers are also willing to include streaky shooter Nick Young in the deal.
On paper, the deal seems to be a fair tradeoff. The Lakers would acquire a proven hustle guy and a promising shooting guard, while the Nuggets get a young power forward to build around as well as a veteran long-distance marksman.

Lewis argued that is simply not the case. The Nuggets would get the short end of the bargain. Young may cause some problems in the locker room, while there is legitimate doubt whether or not Randle deserves a starting role in the NBA.
He constantly battled for starting minutes with rookie teammate Larry Nance Jr. Luke Walton told LA Today that he is impressed with Nance’s Summer League performance. The new Lakers head coach might favor the second-generation player over the Kentucky alum.
Nevertheless, the nucleus of Russell, Clarkson, Harris, Ingram, Nance, Faried and Mozgov would be an interesting group to root for in the future. The Lakers would be a run-and-gun type of team with four shooters and a rebounding big any time on the court, as per Nugg Love.
