Lady Gaga is currently working on her latest album with one of the most respectable artists of all time, Sir Elton John. While the two are collaborating on their latest project, Gaga has been rumored to perform at the upcoming Grammy Awards 2016 for a musical tribute dedicated to the late David Bowie. Furthermore, Sir John is currently touring.
Last Tuesday, Sir Elton John revealed that he is definitely back writing music and collaborating with one of the generation’s top artists, the incomparable Lady Gaga. Having won in the Golden Globes 2016 and having landed an Oscar nomination for her performance in “American Horror Story: Hotel” this year, Gaga is psyched to be working with one of the greats. The two were also rumored to be performing together at the Grammy Awards 2016.
Gaga stated during an interview, “He [Sir Elton John] inspires me in ways I could not even begin to list properly. He is my friend. He is like a parent. He looks out for me, he was there for me during the hardest times in my life. He doesn’t allow me to slip into depression without making sure that I’m okay.” She added, “Everything he has done for AIDS, everything he has done for the LGBT community – he’s just everything. When I’m with him, I just want to help be a part of his genius plan to save the world.
The artists’ bond extends to Lady Gaga being named as one of the godmothers of Sir John’s sons, Zachary, and Elijah, with husband David Furnish.
When Sir John was interviewed by Zane Lowe of Beats 1, he did, however, criticize the “Artpop” album of Lady Gaga and stated, “It was not a good album and I think she would admit to that. Then in the midst of that, she did three things which were kind of amazing. She did the whole tour and album with Tony Bennett, which did amazingly well.” He added, “She sang the Julie Andrews tribute at the Oscars, which everybody loved. And she was on ‘American Horror Story.’”
Speaking about the unfinished album, Sir John revealed, “I’ve heard two songs, which are killer. They’re just great songs. It’s like back to the early stuff of hers – like ‘You and me’ and the Bruce Springsteen one (as I always all it), ‘Bad Romance.’”
Lowe confirmed her interview with Sir John and posted a tweet:
