A mother and daughter were killed brutally by a couple who were fans of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson’s “Twilight” movie.
The unidentified teenage couple was arrested three days after the bodies of Elizabeth and Katie Edwards were discovered in their house in Spalding, Lincs in April 15.
Reports said that the couple planned the murder of the 49-year-old mother and her 13-year-old daughter four days before, while they ate at McDonalds.
The boy admitted killing Elizabeth and Katie before the Nottingham Crown Court, saying that he brought with him four knives and used the largest one to stab the throat of the mother.
Katie, who was asleep in her bedroom, was stabbed to death after her mother’s slay.
Meanwhile, the girl, now 15, was in the bathroom waiting for the killing to be executed as she “did not like the smell of blood”.
Prosecutor Peter Joyce said that the couple stabbed the throats of the victims so they will not make noises, Mirror UK said.
“The defendants had discussed how to kill them and had spoken about stabbing them in their necks in order to damage their voice boxes so they wouldn’t make a noise,” he said.
Mr. Joyce added that couple, who seemed to be fans of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson’s “Twilight” movie, had taken a bath together to wash off the blood in their body and watched the vampire movie after.
Mr. Joyce also added that the girl, who admitted that she “held a grudge” against Elizabeth, is said to have been dealing with mental illness at the time of the crime. Thus, her case was reduced from murder to manslaughter. The boy meanwhile admitted to double murder.
“They were serious in their intention,” the prosecutor said. “They meant it to happen.”
