The Kraft Heinz Company has recently announced that it is extending the voluntary recall it has issued last July with regards to cheese slices. This is because there were two choking incidents recently reported in connection with the packaging issue of some Kraft cheese products.
Previously, only 3LB and 4LB packages were said to be affected by the recall. Now, Kraft Heinz Company has also decided to include 1 LB packages, following the recent choking incidents. The affected Kraft cheese product varieties include Kraft Singles American, Deli Deluxe Kraft American Single and Kraft Singles White American.
The affected product display a “Best When Used By” dates from 29 DEC 15 through 04 JAN 16. They also bear the Manufacturing Codes S54 or S55, these reflect the products’ two production lines that are affected by the recall. Moreover, both “Best When Used By” date and Manufacturing Code can be seen on both the outer box and individual packages.
The Kraft Heinz Company reports that there were about 335,000 additional cases of the affected products that were shipped to various retailers throughout the U.S. as well as to Puerto Rico, Anguilla, Bahamas, Belize, Bermuda, Cayman Islands Grand Cayman, Netherlands Antilles, Saint Kitts and Nevis, South Korea, St. Lucia, and British Virgin Islands.
