Kim Basinger is all set to join the “Fifty Shades Darker” cast. The Academy Award winner will be playing the former lover and business partner of Christian Grey in the sequel.
Shooting of “Fifty Shades Darker” will commence in a few days. The franchise has planned to shoot for the two sequels back-to-back. The next one is “Fifty Shades Freed.”
According to Variety, Basinger is one of the new cast members playing an important role in the movie. The hint was there in Fifty Shades of Grey. She is the older woman in Grey’s life who got him to the world of S&M. Her addition to “Fifty Shades Darker” as Elena Lincoln is a big reveal.
The franchise is in the final stages of planning with Kim for her role in the movie. She is the actress in 1986’s “9 ½ Weeks.” She is going to bring her appeal in the movie. The star has an Oscar to her credit. She won best supporting actress for her role in “L.A. Confidential” in 1997.
Basinger will be seen in “Nice Guys” opposite Ryan Gosling. She is represented by APA, Management Production Entertainment and Bloom Hergott.
Apart from Kim Basinger, the “Fifty Shades Darker” cast is more or less the same. Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan will be reprising their roles as Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey. Luke Grimes, Eloise Mumford and Max Martini will be returning to the movie.
