Kesha is finally back in the music scene, and she is set to come out with a new version of “True Colors” with Zedd on Friday.
Amid her legal battle against record producer Dr. Luke, the 29-year-old singer got the DJ’s support via this project. The latter clarified, though, that no “loop holes” have ever been used for it to materialize, E! News reported.
“Just to clarify: We didn’t use any loop holes,” the Russian-German Grammy Award-winning musician, music producer, and DJ tweeted. “Kemosabe / RCA gave us permission to release this song!”
With this post, Dr. Luke responded, “Thanks for the clarification @Zedd …”
The speculation about the collaboration of Kesha and Zedd started when the latter teased about it on his Twitter account.
“ZEDD & KESHA – TRUE COLORS,” he captioned an image of an artwork for “True Colors.” “OFFICIALLY OUT: 4/29. Music can be freedom.”
Meanwhile, it can be recalled that the two artists already performed “True Colors” together at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival earlier this month, but according to Los Angeles Times, the “Die Young” singer did not say a word to address her fans, only an emotional rendition of the song, which is part of the EDM DJ’s 2015 LP.
As described by the news outlet, Kesha’s Coachella performance spelled “redemption and righteous anger,” especially when she reached the portion of Zedd’s song that says, “I won’t apologize for the fire in my eyes. Let me show you my true colors.”
Prior to her first performance after several months of being away from the limelight, the pop singer took to Instagram on Tuesday to share the latest news about her, particularly when it comes to her singing career, Us Magazine disclosed.
“It’s a miracle when someone gives you a chance at finding your voice again with no reason other than that he is a f–king beautiful person with a heart of gold @zedd #truecolors,” Kesha captioned her black-and-white photo inside the recording studio.
