Michael Strahan just dropped major bomb about his experience as Kelly Ripa’s co-host!
The former football player told details about working with “Live” co-host Kelly Ripa that made him such as “nervous wreck.”
The new “Good Morning America” host said that when he auditioned to be Kelly Ripa’s co-host in 2011, he felt like he is in “The Bachelor.”
Saying that he is wondering if ever he would get a rose from the host, Kelly Ripa was said to have always shared morning coffee with a lot of guys.
Michel Strahan listed down Seth Meyers, Nick Lachey, Neil Patrick Harris, and Josh Groban in the men who Kelly Ripa has always talked to, Radar Online said.
The 44-year-old retired player told all this in his tell-all book entitled “Wake Up Happy” which he released as he departed ways with the host in the ABC morning talk show.
“For a long time, I wasn’t favorite or even thought to be a contender for the job,” he said, pertaining to the time he auditioned.
He also thought that he will not get a position because of his race. After guest hosting for 20 times, Michael Strahan finally got the position.
However, he told it was just the start of his challenges.
“The whole first year of Live was a constant stream of new challenges and new fears,” he said.
Last May, Michael Strahan left “Live with Kelly and Michael” to go full time for “Good Morning America.” His sudden decision was said to have not been consulted with Kelly Ripa.
In his People interview, Michael Strahan also doubted his friendship with the host, saying he once thought they were friends despite receiving major diss from her.
“At one point I think we were friends,” he said. “I don’t know what happened at the end.”
