It’s not just Orlando Bloom who is reportedly thinking about settling down with “Fireworks singer Katy Perry. A man named Spencer from Knoxville, Tennessee, has spent six years of his life believing he was in a relationship with the songstress and even got an engagement ring for her.
MTV’s “Catfish” investigators Max and Nev received a message from Spencer claiming that he is ‘100 percent confident’ he has been dating Perry for six years, despite the fact that she got married within this period and even been rumoured to be dating actor Bloom. Spencer was even under the impression that Katy Perry tried to convey messages to him through her songs.
When Max and Nev investigated the case, it was revealed that Spencer’s Katy Perry was actually a Canadian woman called Harriet, who now lives in London. The communication between Harriet and Spencer took place over a messaging app and emails, the Mail Online reported.
However, according to Harriet’s friends, she is not straight and has no interest in men. When the detective duo got hold of Harriet she seemed hardly bothered by what she has been doing, although she admitted it was wrong to deceive Spencer.
“I can’t really change what I did, but I understand it was really wrong,” she was quoted as saying by News.co.au.
When the songstress herself came to know about Spencer’s plight, she extended her sympathy for the hapless lover. “I just think it’s really unfortunate and very sad,” she said during an interview on SiriusXM. “My heart goes out to him.”
She added, “People have dreams and people live in different parts of the world where not everything is so accessible. We live on the coasts and we get stuff in a way that some other people don’t get, and I feel bad for him.”
Perry came to know about Spencer when she received a link to the MTV episode.
