Kate Middleton raised some eyebrows after it was rumored that she was using Prince Charles’ money to fund her expensive fashion style.
The 34-year-old Duchess of Cambridge, who was previously known to be favor mass-market clothing in UK, reportedly switched to high-end fashion at the expense of her father-in-law Prince Charles.
It was revealed in the accounting records of Prince Charles that the elegant dress of Kate Middleton is a part of a whopping $4.5 million clothing expenses. He is also funding Prince William and Prince Harry’s clothes.
It is the Prince of Whales’ duties to pay for the expenditures of his children as well as of Kate Middleton. But it was obvious that the 10 percent increase of clothing expenditures was not taken by either Prince William or Prince Harry who are mostly in their suits or military uniforms, Celebrity Dirty Laundry said.
Though the Palace did not disclosed the exact amount Kate Middleton spent for her clothing, it can be noticed that the Duchess of Cambridge has switched from wearing ASOS, Topshop, and Zara to custom couture outfits.
At Queen Elizabeth’s 90th birthday, the mother-of-two was dressed in various coats designed by Princess Diana’s favorite designer Catherin Walker.
Kate Middleton stunned in a pale blue Catherin Walker coat dress, which cost at about $10,000 which she wore at the Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral.
She also wore a $3,000 Dolce & Gabbana lace dress last month for the Royal Ascot.
“Kate is wearing pricier pieces for semi-formal engagements,” she said. “We’ve seen her in three Dolce & Gabbana lace dresses in the past year which cost more than £6,000 in total. Now, almost all of her special occasion dresses are upscale, luxury labels.”
The report noted that Kate Middleton’s current fashion is far from her former look years ago when she wears cheap dresses that cost for only several dollars.
