It has been not more than just a week since 22-year-old reality star Jinger Duggar announced her courtship with soccer player boyfriend Jeremy Vuolo, but news of Vuolo’s criminal past is already making headlines.
The 28-year-old soccer player was arrested in January 2008 for “acting belligerent and shouting obscenities” at a police officer. Vuolo was reportedly locked up in a cell overnight and had to pay $250 fine for the offenses. The player claimed he has learned from his past mistakes.
“I was part of the college party scene and was living foolishly,” the In Touch Weekly quoted him as saying. “I’m not perfect, but I sought out accountability and I now see great victory in my life.”
He even purportedly made unspecified physical contact with the said police officer. As a result, the 20-year-old Vuolo ended up in jail, the Hollywood Gossip reported. According to court documents, he was arrested on charges of harassment at Oneonta Police Department and was released the following day to a friend upon paying the fine.
Meanwhile, in an announcement video, the San Antonio Scorpions goalkeeper explained the depth of his relationship with Jinger Duggar. “As opposed to a more casual dating relationship, we really want to honor the Lord, and be very intentional about how we move forward,” ET Online quoted him as saying.
Jinger Duggar said that they met in May when they took a mission trip together and that’s where she discovered him as a person. Vuolo then reached out to his lady love’s father Jim Bob Duggar, seeking permission to know her better.
“We are very excited to begin this journey together, and for you to join us along the way,” Vuolo added.
