Long-time couple Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux have finally decided to tie the knot, People has learned. The couple reportedly married on Wednesday in the couple’s home in Bel Air, California. And in fact, the wedding was kept secret even from the couple’s invited guests.
Sources have told People that guests were told they were attending Justin’s birthday party. One source remarked, “Jen and Justin wanted to surprise guests and guests were certainly surprised.”
The couple have been friends since around 2008 but have only been romantically linked since May 2011.
For the wedding, a large wooden deck was set up in the backyard of the couple’s home. There was a lounge set up for a party of 74, featuring low-seating ottomans. Meanwhile, the wedding venue also featured a raised stage on one end and a bar on the other.
The exclusive guest lists includes Aniston’s Friends co-stars Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow, along with Howard Stern, Beth Ostrosky Stern, Whitney Cummings, Ellen DeGeneres, Portia de Rossi, Jason Bateman, Jennifer Meyer, Terry Richardson, Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, Scott Campbell, Jimmy Kimmel, Lake Bell, Chelsea Handler, Sia, Will Arnett, Billy Crudup, Tobey Maguire and Kathryn Hahn.
TMZ reported that a man who appeared to be a pastor was seen arriving in Justin and Jennifer’s home with a Bible in hand. In addition, party staff was also spotted carrying a cake topped with two Muppet-like puppets – one male and the other female.
Meanwhile, Us Weekly reports that the couple served fettuccine carbonara with pork, mostaccioli pasta with red sauce along with chicken, fish and sausage during the reception. One source also remarked that the “cake was delicious!”
Justin and Jennifer’s reps did not immediately comment. Meanwhile, Us Weekly also spotted the newly married couple in the airport on the way to their honeymoon in Bora Bora.
