Apple’s Airpods, which costs at $159, is set to be release to the market early next month, as what Chris Velazco of Engadget revealed hours after the product’s launch in San Francisco.
For Brian Heater of Tech Crunch Airpods is exactly like Apple’s Earpods, though it is distinctly without wire. He noted this is a good choice, given that the trends today for wireless Bluetooth headphones are circular. The iPhone’s wireless Airpods’ long white tail makes it easier for the user to fit it better in his ear. Purchasing the product also includes a microphone for handsfree calls.
It lets users double-tap the buds and start chatting with Siri, with her usual commands. When you pull one of the Airbods out of your ear, the music stops playing. This can save up the Airpod’s battery life. Velazco added that this will also work on Apple Watch soon.
The product also features noise reduction when you have calls. However, experts present in the launch noted this can be tested if they are in a quieter environments that a press event.
It is built to last for five hours in one charging, which is pretty similar to Samsung’s Gear IconX earbuds that lasts only for three hours.
“It’s far too early to tell if the AirPods are worthy wearables or just a neat gimmick that builds on the promise of Apple’s increasingly wireless future,” he reviewed. “At this point, I’m not terribly thrilled, but here’s hoping the final models are capable of greatness.”
