Another device has joined the list of smartphone releases for 2016, and it comes from U.S.-based tech company InFocus. The new device is the InFocus Bingo 50, which is the third smartphone to join the firm’s Bingo series after Bingo 21 and 20.
The smartphone that was launched this Monday, March 16, is aimed to please selfie lovers. With that description, one can say that the highlight of this phone is its cameras. Its front shooter features a Samsung S5K3H7 camera module with back-side illumination for better low-light performance. The shooter has 8 megapixels and has an almost zero shutter lag.
The new budget phone for selfie lovers has a rear shooter, which also features the same Samsung camera module. It has an f2/2 aperture, auto focus and LED flash. It is also 8 megapixels and can capture 1080p HD videos while supporting up to 30 fps, reports Deccan Chronicle.
According to InFocus India Head Sachin Thapar, smartphones today focus mostly on the rear camera and ignores the “selfie camera experience.” Young consumers take about eight out of ten photos using the front camera of their devices.
Thapar said that “taking cue from this trend,” the company’s Bingo 50 comes equipped with 8MP cameras for both front and primary cameras with “Auto Focus, for a selfie experience that no other smartphone can offer at this price point,” reports International Business Times India.
Additionally, the dual-SIM device features a 5-inch HD display that has a pixel resolution of 1280 x 720. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with a customized InLife user interface version 2.0. The InFocus phone runs on a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6735 quad-core processor. It has a RAM of 3GB and an internal storage of 16GB, which is expandable up to 64GB via a microSD card, reports BGR.
Fone Arena adds that InFocus Bingo 50 has a Mali-T760 GPU and comes with 3.5mm thin edges, which are curved and has metallic casing on the sides. It comes in two color variants, which are sandstone gray and leather black. It supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB and GPS in terms of connectivity options. The selfie phone is powered by a 2500 mAh battery.
Meanwhile, Gadgets 360 reports that InFocus Bingo 50 houses a variety of India-based local themes along with an advanced screenshot feature that lets users edit the capture range. The device will go on sale exclusively via Snapdeal starting next week, March 21.
The smartphone is currently priced at 7,499 INR. Consumers interested to purchase the device can already register. The U.S.-based company also said that the first 100 buyers will get a free Rock Selfie Stick, which normally costs 1,000 INR.
