Australian rapper Iggy Azalea made it known that she nearly collaborated with “Royals” hitmaker Lorde on her upcoming album “Digital Distortion.” It did not push through but she still wants it to happen.
Azalea still got her hopes up that she and Lorder can one day work together. The “Black Widow” singer said that if not on her forthcoming album, she wishes to work with Lorde in the future. She said so in her topless shoot and interview with Remix Magazine (via Stuff NZ).
Azalea thinks Lorde will be awesome to work with. “I almost collaborated with Lorde on this album! I sent her the song and it didn’t get done in time, but it’s one of my artistic goals to work with Lorde,” she explained. “There’s this one song I wrote for the album but it needed a female singer and she was my number one.”
Azalea added that the feeling is mutual — Lorde also wanted to work with her. “Lorde was going to do it, she was totally keen, but Lorde was too busy with her own album,” she explained. This, despite the fact that back in 2014, Azalea and Lorde reportedly got into a feud.
Azalea’s 2016 is off to a good start. According to Idolator, the Australian rapper is flying high as she promotes her well-received comeback song “Team.”
On March 22, the artist, whose real name is Amethyst Amelia Kelly, will do a series of radio interviews in the day. And in the evening, Azalea will perform the fiery anthem for the first time on American talk show “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
