Husband Volunteers To Be His Wife’s ‘Surrogate Pinky’

Earlier this year, Libby Sanders suffered a freak accident that would somewhat change her life. She had badly injured her pinky. And after doctors tried their best to save it, Libby was forced to have her finger amputated.

Getting used to having a part of you missing is never easy. Libby may be a happy woman, but she admitted that the experience was “pretty rough” on her. Her husband Matt knows how bummed she has been about it, especially when she’s painting her nails. That’s when Matt came up with a brilliant idea. “I will be your surrogate pinky. You can paint my pinky to match your nails for the rest of our lives.”

Libby said she actually ended up painting Matt’s left pinky, and true to his word, his pinky became Libby’s surrogate for photos. Today, Libby and Matt have also become part of a pinky movement for charity. In fact, during an event called “Will Read And Sing For Food” last month, the couple agreed to paint guests’ pinky if they donate $1 for charity.

When he’s not posing as a painted surrogate pinky, Matt is busy behind the kitchen of Libby’s Gourmet Ice Cream. Matt has been selling ice cream with his father since he was 14 years old. Now, he has come up with 80 exciting flavors, some sweet, others savory.

At the same time, the sweet and savory vibe is present in the rest of the Libby’s Gourmet Ice Cream menu. How about trying “The Madeline”? It’s a sandwich filled with strawberry jam, cream cheese and spinach.

Meanwhile, Matt continues to be Libby’s surrogate pinky when he’s not churning up ice cream. Needless to say, the pair continues to live their happily ever after. According to a report from BuzzFeed, the couple has five children.

“I cannot image a sweeter, kinder man. No words adequately describe our love,” said Libby.
