“Android Marshmallow” has been launched for almost every compatible phone, but it looks like HTC One M8 owners will have to wait for more time before they get this operating system on their devices.
The news was first given by HTC’s VP of Product Management Mo Versi on Twitter. Announcing the delay, he tweeted, “We’ve come across a slight delay and required to re-spin.” He further added, “I am expecting TA within next few days and will keep you posted.” The reason why the update is getting delayed is still not known. Not even the exact date of the update for “HTC One M8” has been announced. But as per the tweet, we can expect it to be out soon.
Android Marshmallow was released on September 29 and was supposed to come to HTC’s flagship phone along with Sense 7 UI. If we look at the past, HTC usually released updates in 90 days. This time, the scenario looks different, but the news of the delay has come as a disappointment. If the company manages to work on whatever the problem is and release it in 90 days, it would be seen as an improvement on the company’s side.
With Android 6.0, the device will get new features. Since the operating system has just been released, current devices are not completely compatible for Android M. Take Google’s fingerprint authentication, for example. You need to have a phone with a fingerprint sensor to use this feature. This may be the reason why Android Marshmallow is getting delayed on some devices.
