Home Alone John Heard Dies In Hotel

Actor John Heard, known for his role as the father figure in Home Alone, has been confirmed dead in a hotel in Palo Alto, California. According to Variety, authorities found Heard dead in the hotel where he was supposedly recovering for his back surgery. The Santa Clara Medical Examiner’s office confirmed the actor’s passing.

In the Home Alone series, Heard played as Kevin McCallister’s faster who has unwittingly neglects his son to tend to his career duties. The absence of Kevin’s parents allows the Home Alone movie plot to move along as home invaders attempt to steal from the McCallister household. However, Kevin manages to thwart and outsmart the burglars off the house up until the police and his parents return home. The movie was considered a smash hit and held a record of the highest grossing live-action comedy film until 2011’s The Hangover 2.

As for Heard’s other notable movies, he also starred in Sharknado as George who’s part of the main protagonist’s group. CNN reported that Heard thought that his role as a drunk in Sharknado would help him shake off his ‘Home Alone father’ typecast image. Heard was casted as a drunk that’s a regular in the main character’s bar. Additionally, Heard was also in White Chicks as Warren Vandergeld who admits he had no more money (MC Hammer Broke) to his two daughters near the end of the movie.

The actor was missed by his fellow actors as seen in The Guardian’s report. Marlon Wayans, his White Chicks co-star, said on Instagram that he and Heard “shared a lot of laughs” and thanked him from his contributions to the industry. Meanwhile, James Woods said, “Devastated to hear of the passing of lifelong friend #John Heard. A complex and brilliant man and a true artist. I will miss him dearly #RIP.”.
