Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has yet to do a single press conference for 2016.
Sure, she has done some sit-down interviews with the press throughout her presidential campaign this year, but it has now been over 260 days since she last stood onstage (or anywhere) and took as much questions as possible from the press. Now, some are wondering if the reason for this is that the presidential candidate is simply too sick to function.
Earlier this month, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani alleged that Clinton is suffering from a health crisis. When he made a guest appearance on “Fox & Friends” earlier this month, Giuliani claimed that Clinton looked tired and sick when she appeared at a news conference alongside police officers in New York city.
“First of all, she looked sick. Number two, she looked completely uncomfortable with saying anything pro-police. And number three, it was a complete joke because she’s surrounded by four or five Democratic-appointed political police chiefs,” Giuliani remarked.
According to a report from Politico, Donald Trump also jumped at the chance to nail Clinton for her health issues. During an appearance on Fox News, Trump claimed Clinton “doesn’t really do that much.”
“She’ll give a speech on a teleprompter, and then she’ll disappear. I don’t know if she goes home [and] goes to sleep. I think she sleeps,” the GOP presidential candidate said.
Meanwhile, Clinton’s camp shot down the rumors that she is ill, saying these are nothing but “deranged conspiracy theories.”
Nonetheless, what sticks out is the fact that Clinton has not held a single press conference in a long time. According to a report from the Washington Post, when Clinton’s campaign manager Robby Mook was asked about it, Mook simply answered, “She — she’s done over 300 interviews this year — and she — she takes questions in a variety of formats and we’re going to — we’re going to keep looking at that.”
