HBO is rolling out major preparations for the launch of the fourth season of its hit TV series ‘Game of Thrones.’ This coming weekend, the cable channel will hold a continuous marathon of the past seasons of the series on HBO2. At the same time, it is launching Viewers’ Guide about ‘Game of Thrones’ on HBO.com.
The series marathon would start on Friday (April 4) at about 9 a.m. (ET). West Coast subscribers of HBO would enjoy a delayed feed beginning at about 9 a.m. (PT).
Fans of the series should prepare for a long marathon. HBO is set to run all 30 past episodes of the show’s first three seasons. That means the sword-and-sorcery series will be up for continuous 60 hours. The run will end at about 9 p.m. (ET and PT) on April 6. That will be just in time for the coming Season 4 premiere right on HBO’s main channel. Meanwhile, users of HBO GO can easily and conveniently catch up on the series at their own leisure.
For the online Viewers’ Guide for ‘Game of Thrones,’ would have more features. For the fanatics of the series, it would contain interactive maps of Essos and Westeros. There would be a zoon feature. Interestingly, the guide would also feature character biographies from each season as well as updated ‘Guide to the Houses’ as well as some other shareable content.
The author of the books from where the TV show was based, George R.R. Martin, would have his own participation in the guide. He is tasked to ass new episodic content each week. Expectedly, there will be more features to delight the fans.
Inside each episode
Each episode of the upcoming new season would be featured in the ‘Inside the Episode’ commentary within the guide. The content would come directly from series creators David Benioff with DB Weiss.
There will also be interviews and video featuring some of the members of the cast. There would also be clips to bring the viewers behind the scenes so they can know more about the characters, the stars, and the show. It would certainly be an interesting new season for ‘Game of Thrones.’
