Harrison Barnes has finally found a compelling reason to try alcohol. The 6-feet 8-inch tall, 225-pound small forward of Golden State Warriors tasted NBA Championship on Tuesday after winning the finals 4-2 over Cleveland Cavaliers.
After hoisting the glittering trophy, Barnes took the first step of sipping fine champagne and his introduction to adult beverage was captured via Snapchat and subsequently screencapped before being posted on twitter.
Barnes clinched 3 big three-pointers in the deciding game 6, averaged 8.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 32.9 minutes per game in the finals, which is a decent outing. Barnes then entered to explore the brand new world of celebrations at Golden State after-party.
Two of the Warriors are famous for abstaining from alcohol. Harrison Barnes is one of them, Andre Iguodala, who notched up 25 points in game 6 of the finals, is the other guy. Both were under severe pressure from their colleagues to break their shackles.
Barnes promised before the game 6 that a win would end his impressive streak as a teetotaler.
“They didn’t get me,” Iguodala claimed.
“They got me,” Barnes admitted as he kept his words. Barnes sipped at 3 a.m., then felt he desperately needed a shower back at Ritz.
Reserve guard Justin Holiday shouted after him, “You’re going to be asleep in 10 minutes.” The party continued till 5 a.m.
