The news of cancellation of the fourth season of “Hannibal” was indeed disappointing for the fans. The TV series, which has enjoyed good ratings as well as critical acclaim for its style, will end with season 3. But a Hannibal teaser release has something spectacular for the viewers.
A recent YouTube trailer highlighted the Red Dragon arc that will cover the second half of the ongoing season. As shown, “The Hobbit” actor Richard Armitage is playing the role of Francis Dolarhyde, a serial killer. He is dubbed by the tabloids as the Tooth Fairy.
Hannibal sees Dolarhyde as a stand-in for Will, and thinks that Will sees Dolarhyde as a stand-in for Hannibal. The story of Dolarhyde comes in the series three years after season 3 started.
Will is now retired from FBI and has a family, but that pleasure is surely going to be short-lived for him, as the attacks of Dolarhyde will be aimed at Will’s family.
The termination of the series by NBC came as a shock to viewers. However, they were mildly assured by creator Bryan Fuller that the story might be continued as a feature film. Hence there is nothing to feel sad about right now; no confirmation about the future of the series was given, unfortunately.
This psychological horror thriller based on the Thomas Harris’s famous novel “Red Dragon” premiered at NBC on 2013. After the success of the first season, the second one was also highly acclaimed. The ongoing third season premiered on June 4. Six episodes of the 13 scheduled for this season have been aired already, and the seventh will hit the small screen on Thursday.
The Hannibal trailer released on YouTube also showed Bedelia and her tormented patient played by Zachary Quinto. So we can expect more drama and thrills in the last half of the series. It was also informed by Fuller himself that the finale of the season will include an “epic” song penned by Siouxsie Sioux.
