GamesCom 2016 is underway and most of the popular game developers were around to show what they had to offer. Most treats could be seen from the banners hanging but there was one that caught the attention of many, including Half Life 3.
It was an ad that carried Half Life 3, a popular game from Valve that many have been eagerly awaiting. Right now there is no certainty on whether one would be released. Half Life 3 rumors made noise in recent weeks.
This Ain’t Half Life 3
At first glance, the banner will immediately bring to mind the game. A site even labeled the ad as a ‘troll post’ though it was really meant for a couple of websites – Giga Games and Spieletipps.

When translated, the ad read: “Half-Life: 3 editors who played it back then.” Depending on one’s take, it can either be taken lightly or get one up and enraged.
What Is The Real Score With Half Life 3?
The truth is that Valve CEO Gabe Newell isn’t exactly leaving much to expect for a possible Half Life 3. “The only reason we’d go back and do like a super classic kind of product is if a whole bunch of people just internally at Valve said they wanted to do it and had a reasonable explanation for why,” said Newell.
That alone dampens the possibility of seeing another Half Life. However, stubborn gamers are unlikely to give up and fold, as they are expected to continue search for clues about the rumored game.
The Hardware Engineer’s Dish
Alan Yates, a new hardware engineer over at Valve caused quite a stir last month, teasing how the AR/VR research team has grown. There are rumors linking a possible virtual reality integrated feature to Half Life 3 so this brought up the rumors once more.
The team Yates is claiming could be credible. But with no script to work on, a Half Life 3 seems far from convincing anyone of coming. For it to happen, Newell is waiting for a credible script – something that has yet to fall on his laps.
