Gwen Stefani has finally opened up about the most awful experience of her life. The singer, who is currently dating Blake Shelton, had the most difficult time when her marriage of 13 years ended.
In an interview with The New York Times, Stefani, 46, opened up about how she felt when her marriage ended. Gwen did not want to give out too much details as she felt it would affect her children.
Gwen mentioned that it was a normal day for her. She performed “My Heart Is Open” at the Grammys with Maroon 5. She had Mexican food with band singer and fellow coach on The Voice, Adam Levine. However, her life became a complete mess the next morning. Gwen came to know about Gavin Rossdale’s affair with their nanny.
Gwen was so upset at that point that she felt life dying. She opened up about her feelings by saying, “I am dead, actually. How do I save myself? What am I going to do? How do I not go down like this?” Gwen find solace in music. She loves her music room. She mentioned, “Being in that room and being creative, it was the only place that felt good — I was like, I love the smell of this room.”
She released her album after news of her divorce came into public. The tracks of her album are quite direct. “Used to Love You” was more about what she feels about the break-up.
She is now in a relationship with Blake Shelton, 37, and is currently sharing custody of her three children with her ex-husband. However, she is not happy with the process, as she finds it completely unjustified, Us Magazine points out.
Life does not give you everything that you demand, and Stefani has understood this reality. She is now content with her life, promising to continue making good music.
