“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” has been confirmed to have started filming already. What would filming be if the cast has not been completed? Here is the complete list of actors and actresses who will reprise their roles, and a couple of new ones who would join the journey to outer space.
According to Gizmodo, filming for “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” has started, as was confirmed by the film’s director, James Gunn, yesterday. Not only that: the director also revealed the last addition to the force set to take on outer space: Kurt Russel.
Gunn posted a photo on Facebook that shows a snapshot of the complete cast of the movie. The photo shows actors and actresses who would reprise their roles in the franchise: Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Michael Rooker, Sean Gunn, Glenn Close, and Bradley Cooper. The least expected familiar face from the photo was that of Kurt Russel.
Other members of the cast who are new comprised of Pom Klementieff, who will play the character Mantis, Elizabeth Debicki, and Chris Sullivan.
As reported by Entertainment Weekly, Gunn and Marvel Studios recently revealed Russel’s participation in the film this Wednesday. The director took to Facebook and revealed his excitement that Russel is joining the cast. His post reads, “My favorite movie as a small child was The Strongest Man in the World so I’m glad to announce that, yes, Kurt Russell has joined our cast and, yes, he is more awesome a dude than I ever could have imagined.”
Other than the entire cast for “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” Marvel Studios also released a teaser photo of the film.
“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” will release in theaters this May 5, 2017.
