In Grey’s Anatomy’s Season 12 finale, Callie’s exit from the longest-running medical drama for 10 years shook the world. But an interesting turn of events happened that will surely excite series fans waiting for Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 13 updates: it’s only a break.
According to Shonda Rhimes, the creator of the medical drama hit, Callie, played by Sara Ramirez, is returning to the show after the break, the Hollywood Reporter noted. Callie has become one of the main characters of the drama, when she first appeared in the season 2. Hence, her supposed exit from the show received mixed reactions from the show’s fans.
Lo and behold, it’s nothing but a temporary exit, said Ramirez. According to reports, Callie will be returning when the show resumes in its season 13, but when? Well, let’s reserve that topic for later.
Reports say that Ramirez was elated when she heard the news straight from Rhimes that she will be returning to the show. She added that three days before Rhimes broke the news on her Twitter account, she already knew about the interesting news.
“I’m deeply grateful to have spent the last 10 years with my family at ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ and ABC, but for now, I’m taking some welcome time off,” Ramirez tweeted.
As for the schedule of the season 13 release, it was expected to be released this Fall, in time for the opening of a new school year, the show reported. Since 2005, Grey’s Anatomy has become one of the most beloved dramas on ABC, but it seems Grey’s fans may have to spend the summer without a new season for now.
