Apart from technologically advanced smart phones, Google is also giving users the unique opportunity to own aesthetically advanced smart phones. “Limited edition” Google Nexus 2016 phones are going to feature rare sculptures from Jeff Koons’ “Gazing Ball” collection!
Google had teased earlier about the “Live Cases” range for Nexus and that the company would be collaborating with some eminent artist to make the range artistically more appealing, something that has been rarely attempted by other tech company. Only recently was the name of the artist revealed and as it turns out, it the guy who is famous for the shiny balloon dog sculptures! There will be three cases designed by Koons, every one of them featuring a different sculpture from Gazing Ball.
The cases will be available in two different sizes, one that is tailor-made for Nexus 5X and another for 6P. These Live cases will be priced at $40 each, which might seem a bit too expensive for some, but on second thoughts might be one of the “cheapest ways to acquire a Koons,” reports The Verge.
Just like all other Live Cases released earlier by Google, the Google Nexus 2016 phones will also get an additional button by means of NFC, however how useful that button would be, is still to be seen.
All the works of art will be monochromatic, with all the sculptures brought to life by a pop of blue against a completely white backdrop, reports Phone Arena. In addition, the Nexus Live Cases will also have customized wallpaper that can be activated by clicking on the Case. Koons has also tried his hand at deconstructing the Swan Lake in a video that will be included in the Google Nexus 2016 phones, which is said to complement his work of art at the back.
