Google asks Chromecast Developers to avoid ‘Porn Apps’ development

Google is at the center of technological innovations in the world with the new Chromecast set to roll out which is a dongle device that lets you stream web content into your PC from your smartphone and PCs.

Google has also asked the developers to start making new apps for this device. However, with the increased level of porn apps around, Google has also requested the app developers to abstain from developing porn apps which will enable to stream porn from PCs to the TV screens in order to make the device a more elegant thing rather than to just become famous because of the ability to stream porn to the TV.

Google has always been strict against porn apps. The rules which govern the app store of Google called Google play clearly states that the apps are to be porn-free and it wants the developers to follow the same code of conduct as Google play for the Chromecast apps. It says “we don’t allow content that contains nudity, graphic sex or sexually explicit material. And Google doesn’t stop here as it also bans gambling, hate speech, depiction of violence and other illegal activities. There have been some reports of developers who have violated the code of conduct provided by Google regarding its app store and subsequently the company has terminated their access to the store for temporary or even permanent basis. Google is very strict in its policies regarding this content as it has previously banned porn apps from Google Glass too by stopping the first app that was released last summer.

However, many believe that the steps taken by Google aren’t enough to prevent the human beings doing what they can with their tech be it Google Glass, Chromecast or even the Google search engine itself. The company can or in some cases won’t do complete censorship of all the sleazy products out there. Its already reported that reported that Google had banned facial recognition software and apps on the Google Glass as it is a very sensitive matter but that hasn’t stopped developers and users from doing that as a young developer Stephen Balaban claimed that he had started working on an alternative platform for the Glass which Google couldn’t control and thus the apps that come with it. So the bottom line is that if Chromecast becomes popular with the masses, certain programmers might find a way to sidestep Google’s restrictions
