Winter is here and filming for Game of Thrones is well underway in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Now members of the cast are teasing what’s to come next season.
Among them is Emilia Clarke who teased a battle scene in league as “Hardhome” and “Battle of the Bastards.” Seeing that she is currently leading an army across the Narrow Sea, it only seems appropriate.
Thanks to the Watchers on the Wall, we may have new information on new set locations for season 7. Depending on their climate the locations could prove useful in predicting what will happen next season.
The first of these new sets is located in Las Breñas, northeast of Los Barruecos National Monument. The location is also close to the sea which means it will be used in scenes involving bays or beaches. Given the warm climate of Spain, the location could be either for Dorne or King’s Landing.
New Locations For Game Of Thrones Season 7
Sources also say that a battle will be filmed in the location and is rumored to include one of the Targaryen Dragons. If this is true, this could be the battle depicted in Bran Stark’s vision back in Game of Thrones Season 6.
According to Express, the scenes of individual characters, filming is said to take place in the aquatic area of Los Barruecos. This could mean that Daenerys Targaryen’s invasion would land directly in King’s Landing the same way her ancestors did 300 years ago.
The second location will be the Trujillo Castle the centerpiece of the town of Trujillo which is known for its Renaissance buildings. The castle will probably be used as the backdrop for the Red Keep where Cersei Lannister will probably spend her last days as queen.
Sources claim that over 100 extras are being called for the scene. They will likely play Lannister soldiers and Daenerys’ Unsullied who will likely face off in the halls of the Red Keep.
Now that Daenerys Targaryen is crossing the Narrow Sea, it’s unlikely that the sets will feature locations in Essos. Catch Game of Thrones Season 7 when it returns next year exclusively on HBO.
