‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 7 Spoilers, Air Date, Reports: Possible Khal Drogo Cameo

“You will never get what you want” a lesson that every Game of Thrones fan should have learned from day one. Yet we are still so stubborn that we ask HBO to bring in Khal Drogo in season 7, despite the fact that he is completely and utterly dead.

Rumors began to surface that the khal will return to the show after Jason Momoa posted a photo of himself and Kit Harington on Instagram. The photo was shot after the conclusion of the 68th Emmy Awards.

It was not the photo itself that gave rise to the rumors but its caption. Momoa wrote “Congrats to my kit [.] super proud of him and all the cast and crew congrats [.] Game of thrones you are the best can’t wait for the next season Aloha j. Back to work,”

According to Comicbook, this triggered a firestorm of gossip as fans became ecstatic at the prospect of Khal Drogo returning. This is despite the fact that he is already dead and his body was burned all the way back in season 1.

Is Khal Drogo Returning To Game Of Thrones?

Still, many argue that he could still do a cameo for the show like he did in season 2. However, given that the show is now approaching its finale, it’s unlikely the showrunners will give a dead character from season one some decent screen time.

With only 7 episodes as opposed to the standard 10, Game of Thrones is already short on time. David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have to cram the Targeryen invasion and the Long Night in 13-14 episodes which means every second counts.

As far as updates go, it seems the post only showed us how big of a fan Jason Momoa really is. And if you take a closer look at his schedule, there’s very little room to squeeze in a short cameo for season 7.

Momoa will ditch his horse to play Arthur Curry, also known as Aquaman in Justic League. It seems the role is the final nail in the coffin for Drogo’s return as he will forever ride with his ancestors in the Night Lands.
