‘Game of Thrones’ The Mountain & His Fluffy Pomeranian Puppy Make Fans Swoon

“Game of Thrones” fans are going crazy over the Instagram post of Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson playing with his Pomeranian puppy. ‘The Mountain’, as he is known in the show, takes a break from his intimidating character to bond with his pet dog Asterix – which looks so little compared to him!

According to People Magazine, Björnsson, who plays Ser Gregor Clegane, enjoys the little things in life. Fans of the HBO series would never have guessed that the two-time winner of Europe’s strongest man would have a Pomeranian as a pet.

In “Game of Thrones,” Ser Gregor Clegane is known as ‘The Mountain,” a landed knight in service to Lord Tywin Lannister. In season 5, after he was killed in a duel by Oberyn Martell, he is resurrected by Qyburn as Ser Robert Strong a member of the Kingsguard.

The Instagram photos just show how small the adorable little dog is compared to the body-building actor’s physique. Asterix also has his own Instagram account featuring photos of him with Björnsson.

According to The Telegraph, it is hard to imagine Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, with his huge body and unbelievable calorie intake of 11,489, could have a Asterix as a pet. Despite the odd pairing, the two look absolutely adorable together and by the looks of it the internet is definitely in the same boat as us.

Coincidentally, House Clegane’s sigil includes three dogs and Gregor himself is known as Tywin Lannister’s “mad dog.” After seeing photos of Björnsson and his dog, it will be hard not to imagine House Clegane’s feared hounds as nothing more than cute and fluffy Pomeranians.

So move over Jon Snow and Ramsay Bolton, it’s time for ‘The Mountain” to show off his dog.  Sure he can’t slay wights or help you hunt people for fun, but he can definitely win the hearts of millions and that is what matters when you play the “Game of Thrones.”
