‘Game Of Thrones’ Spin-off Looms? Nikolaj Coster-Waldau Hints ‘Heartslayer’

“Game of Thrones” Season 6 Episode 10 contained some very gruesome endings for some characters. “Winds of Winter” showed people being burned, baked into a pie, stabbed by children, and jumping off the window.

With these deaths, the series has once again taken more people out of its payroll. With much of the original cast gone, is this HBO’s way of saying that the series is nearing its end?  Is a “Game of Thrones” spinoff in the horizon?

Hopefully, the popularity of “Game of Thrones” gives rise to sequels or spin-offs. Anything will probably be welcomed by fans, canonical or otherwise and it seems Ser Jaime Lannister has some ideas of his own.

According to his interview with the New York Times, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau hints his approval for a spin-off featuring him, Bronn, and, Brienne. The actor dreams of it being a sit-com where he and Bronn travel the countryside.

Included in his vision are Jamie Lannister and Brienne of Tarth being roommates as well as Varys owning the club the gang frequents. Cool, isn’t it?

It does seem Coster-Waldau had been giving this a thought for years. With Bronn’s witty remarks and Jaime Lannister being the butt of hand-based jokes, it would probably be a hit.

Possible “Game of Thrones” Spin-off

All ridiculous ideas aside, author George R.R. Martin did hint that a spin-off would be a much better choice than a sequel. With a nearly limitless source to draw upon and so many untouched stories, “A Song of Ice and Fire” is ripe for spin-offs.

In addition, Robert’s Rebellion, The Valyrian Freehold, The Century of Blood, The Long Night, and much more are all worthy spin-off candidates. With a readily available fanbase ready to soak up anything with Westeros in it, it would be a waste if HBO refuses to cash in on the “Game of Thrones” popularity.

The mere thought of waiting for “Game of Thrones” Season 7 until next year is enough to bring fans to tears, after all.

Hopefully, the show goes further after the series finale with more stories featuring the wonderful World of Westeros. Until then, the wait for “Game of Thrones” Season 7 is on.
