“Game of Thrones” Season 6 Episode 7, “The Broken Man” saw Margaery Tyrell revealing her true allegiance as she slipped a note to her grandmother to go back home. Will we finally catch a glimpse of the seat of House Tyrell — Highgarden?
While it will be interesting to see what Margaery Tyrell has in store for the High Sparrow, it should be noted that home for Lady Olenna means Highgarden.
Winterfell, King’s Landing, Sunspear, Pyke, Dragonstone, Riverrun, The Eyrie, and Storm’s End, we have seen the seats of all the great houses of Westeros, except for two, Highgarden and Casterly Rock. After eluding our sights for 5 seasons, will the Queen of Thorns give us the grand tour of their castle?
After confirming Margaery Tyrell’s allegiance still remains with House Tyrell, Lady Olenna agrees to return to their seat in The Reach. It can be assumed that after the ferocious tongue lashing she gave to Cersei, she will leave King’s Landing as soon as possible.
Given that she doesn’t die under any circumstances during the journey, fans will definitely catch a glimpse of the greatest castle in The Reach. Considering that Lady Olenna is a central figure in the King’s Landing plot, there will surely be scenes showing her scheming the Tyrell’s next move.
After being mentioned several times in “Game of Thrones,” seeing Highgarden seems to be that one elusive thing that everyone has given up on. From Margaery’s description of the castle, it can be assumed that it is leagues ahead of Winterfell and Riverrun in terms of beauty.
Considering that The Reach is on par with the Westerlands in terms of wealth, this comes as no surprise. The Reach is also the largest region in Westeros with the exception of the North and with their large army, the Tyrells can forgo defensive fortifications in favor of architectural decor.
After fans were treated to House Tarly’s seat of Hornhill, it only seems fair to feature the capital of the Reach. Watch “Game of Thrones”every Sunday only on HBO to catch the splendor of this centuries-old castle.
