In today’s Game of Thrones Season 6 update, the show got new three cast members as HBO confirmed Thursday, that James Faulkner, Samantha Spiro, and Rebecca Benson join the cast currently filming in Spain.
Watchers On The Wall reported “that Faulkner will be playing Randyll Tarly, Sam’s famously stern and martial father. Spiro will be playing Sam’s mother, and Sam’s sister will be played by Scottish actress Rebecca Benson.”
Downtown Abbey’s Faulkner also appeared in the film “X-Men: First Class” and the video games, “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” and “Dragon Age: Inquisition.” He also played Pope Sixtus IV in the TV series “Da Vinci’s Demons.”
Samantha Spiro was seen in the TV show, “After You’ve Gone” and the movie, “From Hell,” while the other cast member Rebecca Benson, recently appeared in the film “Macbeth.” Like the first two actors, Benson has also TV exposures on “era” and “Shetland.”
According to International Business Times, “the three actors are expected to travel to Spain this week to film their scenes for the popular fantasy TV series” which filming in Girona will end its shoot on September 16, while production in other areas in Spain is set to begin.
Earlier, Kit Harrington, whose character Jon Snow was killed in the Season 5 finale, hinted in his Humo magazine interview, that he will be with Game of Thrones until he reached 30’s. Something to look forward to as production for Game of Thrones Season 6 progresses!
