“Game of Thrones” fans are still saddened by the loss of Hodor and somewhat angry at Bran for causing it. What’s next in “Blood of My Blood?”
HBO has released the trailer for the sixth episode of the season, which introduces a new character and reveals the worsening political conditions in King’s Landing. After showing Meera and Bran desperately trying to escape the wights, the trailer shows Samwell Tarly and Gilly arriving in Hornhill, the seat of House Tarly.
After their arrival, they are seen dining with who we believe is Lord Randyll Tarly, Samwell’s father. Lord Tarly is visibly disgruntled with Sam returning to Hornhill seeing as it was him who forced him into the Night’s Watch in the first place.
Will Gilly really be safe in the custody of House Tarly given the disdain Lord Tarly has for his son? Will his father recognize Samwell’s talents lie in the pursuit of knowledge rather that killing men on the battlefield? How will these two fair this season of “Game of Thrones” when characters are dying like it’s nobody’s business?
Meanwhile in King’s Landing, Margaery Tyrell is set to make her walk of atonement in front of the whole city. This is the time the Lannister-Tyrell plot to overthrow the High Sparrow is set in motion. Tensions rise as the walk is suddenly interrupted by hundreds of Tyrell soldiers and Jaime Lannister confronts the head of the Faith of the Seven.
Unknown to the Tyrells, this could be a trap planned by Cersei as revenge after knowing their role in the murder of Joffrey. Will the tensions in the capital spark another Civil War? Will Cersei Lannister finally destroy the alliance between the two most powerful houses of Westeros?
Lastly, it shows Daenerys Targaryen and Daario Naharis on horseback with Daario calling Daenerys the Conqueror to which the Mother of Dragons simply replies “I take what is mine.” After sending Jorah on a mission to find a cure for Greyscale, they are likely on their way to Mereen to take care of unfinished business namely the Sons of the Harpy.
This could just be a compliment on how she managed to gain the loyalty of the Dothraki or part of a discussion regarding the reconquest of Westeros and the Iron Throne which Daenerys considers to be rightfully hers.
It is curious to note that the title “Blood of my Blood” is related to the Dothraki. These words symbolize the relationship between a Khal (or Khaleesi) and his bloodriders. There could be something big in store for Daenerys and the Dothraki in the upcoming episode of Game of Thrones.
