Warning: SPOILERS.

The Starks are dealing with the aftermath of the Battle for Winterfell. Daenerys Targaryen now has everything she needs for an invasion. And in King’s Landing Cersei’s trial has caused irrevocable damage to the city and to her family.

The Trial Of The Century

If you believe that Cersei Lannister will meekly accept her trial and possible punishment then you are not a true fan. Every “Game of Thrones” fan knows that the Queen always gets what she wants.

She orders Qyburn and his little birds to ignite the wildfire hidden beneath the sept while she and Tommen remain in the Red Keep. The wildfire kills the High Sparrow, Kevan Lannister, and the Tyrells while the Little Birds dispatch Grand Maester Pycelle.

Melisandre Gets Burned

After Davos found Shireen’s stag carving at the eve of the Battle of the Bastards, he confronts Melisandre about her fate. He forces her, to tell the truth to Jon Snow forcing him to make a difficult choice.

While he needs the advice of Ser Davos in his rule, he knows that he will need the Red Woman in the coming Long Night. Jon instead orders her to leave with the threat of execution should she return.

Jon of House Targaryen

Yes, Jon Snow’s mother is Lyanna Stark with his father being the Last Dragon, Rhaegar Targaryen. This was revealed after Benjen Stark dropped of Bran near the Wall and the young Stark returns to the Tower of Joy. Game of Thrones fans rejoice R + L = J is now confirmed

There, Bran witnesses his aunt dying from childbirth and his father taking the baby boy. The boy would later grow up to be his bastard half-brother born from the union of Ice and Fire.

Sansa Gets More Than She Bargained For

In the godswood of Winterfell, Littlefinger seeks the reward he was promised in return for his help. Sansa believing that he only wants power is shocked to know that what Lord Baelish wants her.

Baelish offers her the opportunity to be the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms but also gives subtle warnings that no one will support his bastard brother. This prompts her to leave the godswood.

The King In The North!

The last time we heard this line was back in “Game of Thrones” season 2 when Robb Stark was crowned King at the wake of his father’s death. Now a new King in the North is proclaimed thanks in part to our sassy bear lady, Lyanna Mormont.

The houses that previously denied help to House Stark now swear fealty to Jon Snow. Calling him the White Wolf and disgregarding his status as a bastard, the North once again is under the rule of the Starks.

Jon Snow is declared King in the North after a moving speech by Lady Mormont. Jon will forever owe his life to two Lyannas, one being the Lady of Bear Island who made him king, the other his mother Lyanna Stark.

Arya Is Back

After the Lannisters leave the Twins, Walder Frey is enjoying a meal at the great hall where he asks a servant girl about his sons. The servant girl answers that she has already dispatched his two sons and stabs him.

The girl reveals herself to be Arya Stark and tells Frey that she will be the last thing he will see before he dies. He then proceeds to slit Frey’s throat crossing another name off her list.

Varys Goes To Dorne

Earlier in “Game of Thrones”, Ellaria Sand exterminated the remaining members of House Martell. Now that Dorne is under their rule, Lady Olenna Tyrell seeks their help only to be surprised by Varys promising Fire and Blood.

Before leaving Mereen, he revealed his mission saying that they need friends in the Seven Kingdoms. With Ellaria and Lady Olenna seeking vengeance against the Lannisters, they are the perfect candidates to be their allies.

Cersei The First Of Her Name

Jaime Lannister arrives in King’s Landing only to witness the great Sept of Baelor burning. He proceeds to enter the Red Keep to see Cersei Lannister being crowned as Queen and Protector of the Realm.

With Tommen’s suicide leaving no apparent heir other than he mother, the Lannisters are now the new royal house. It seems the Mad Queen has now the player to beat in the Game of Thrones.

The Second Targaryen Conquest Begins

Slaver’s Bay is more or less under her control with the defeat of the Masters and the Sons of the Harpy. Now Daenerys Targaryen sits for one last advice before she sets forth to reclaim her birthright.

After telling Daario Naharis that she will leave him to guard Mereen, the sellsword reluctantly agrees. Tyrion Lannister  later tells her that she is now a player in the Game of Thrones and if she is scared, good. She is part of the great game now and the great game is terrifying.

She boards the Masters armada and the Greyjoy fleet and sets sail for Westeros. She sails with the lead ship along with Varys, Missandei, and Tyrion with her three dragons flying above.
